Concert

The Pôle culturel du Monastère des Ursulines is proud to present “A Gift Concert: Music to Soothe the Soul.”

The approximately 30-minute performance features the Baroque Music Ensemble from the Université Laval Faculty of Music, under the direction of Richard Paré, full professor.

The musicians performing in this concert are doctoral, master’s and undergraduate students in music performance.

Pieces taken from the 17^th-century Italian and French repertoire are on the program for this intimate concert. The ensemble also interprets Sonata #8 for Two Violins, Cello and Continuo, a work composed by Isabella Leonarda, Mother Superior of the Ursulines at the Collegio di Sant’Orsola de Novare in the Piedmont region of Italy (1620–1704), whose 400^th birthday was celebrated in 2020.
