We Grow Up by Playing
The exhibition where you play!
Temporary exhibition
Did they have fun at the Ursuline schools? You bet!
Whether in Rimouski, Quebec City, Trois-Rivières, Roberval, Stanstead, Gaspé or Loretteville, play was a part of the students’ daily lives. Wanting to educate rather than teach, the nuns felt that play—in addition to being fun—contributed to learning and personal development and even helped children grow up!
For the first time ever, the Ursulines’ remarkable collection of toys and games is featured in the We Grow Up by Playing exhibition. Some pieces on display date back to the 18th century! Come take a closer look… if you’re game!
